An email will be sent back to you confirming your time and date. There are no AEA contracts for this show.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your time slot.  Actors will be seen in order of arrival for each time slot.  Prepare 32 bars from classic Broadway.  Please bring sheet music in your key.  An accompanist will be provided. All must sing first and, if appropriate, will be asked to attend a dance call at the end of each day. (Please no character heels – jazz or athletic shoes are preferred.)

Please note: Travel stipends will be provided.

Rehearsals begin July 23, 2011.  Show dates are September 9-October 1, 2011 at The Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek.

All auditions are held at our studios, “The Firehouse” located at: 1948 Oak Park Blvd., Pleasant Hill.  Do NOT use Mapquest for directions.  See MAP here.

Cast Breakdown:

DOROTHY GALE (15-18)- Female strong singer who moves well. Flying required. Must not be allergic to dogs. (Vocal Range: G below middle C – F, with a legit sound.)

SCARECROW/HUNK (25-35)- Male singer/strong dancer. Strong actor with an honest quality. Sympathetic and optimistic friend. Lovable and clumsy. Must be an excellent dancer. Acrobatic skills preferred. Must not be allergic to dogs. Vocal range: strong baritone to F.

TINMAN /HICKORY (25-40)- Male singer/strong dancer. Charming and thoughtful, a kind-hearted romantic. Must not be allergic to dogs. Vocal range: strong baritone to G.

COWARDLY LION/ZEKE (25-40)- Male singer who moves well. Cuddly actor with excellent comic timing. Must not be allergic to dogs. Vocal range: strong baritone to F.

WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST/MS GULTCH (30-50)- Non-singing female actor, vengeful, nasty & hungry for power. Flying required.

GLINDA/AUNT EM (35-55)- Strong female singer. “Beautiful, Benevolent and Beloved.” Maternal figure. Flying required. Vocal range: strong soprano to Ab.

UNCLE HENRY (40-60)- Non-singing male actor. Dorothy’s Uncle, and guardian. Good hearted, and plain-speaking. A hardworking Kansas farmer, and affectionate family-man.

WIZARD OF OZ/PROFESSOR MARVEL (50-60)- Non-singing male character actor. Older father figure with a theatrical eccentric flair. Flying required, 175 lbs. maximum.

MUNCHKINS (10-30)- Group singing and movement required. The little people of Munchkinland. Long oppressed, and happy to be freed by Dorothy.

FEATURED MUNCHKINS- The Mayor Of Munchkin City, The Coroner, The Lollipop Guild, and The Lullaby League.

FLYING MONKEYS (10-30)- Minions of the Wicked Witch of the West. The monkeys do not speak or sing, but will most likely be double-cast as Munchkins. Flying & acrobatics required.

CITIZENS OF OZ (20-60)- Strong singers and dancers.

THE WINKIES (20-60)- Palace guards to the Wicked Witch of the West, double as Citizens of Oz.

TOTO: Well behaved, house-broken small dog.

Hi Isabel,

Unfortunately the show has been fully cast. But we will be holding auditions for White Christmas in July and Legally Blonde in Sept. Hopefully one of those shows will interest you?
