Aaron Antonali was a participant in Diablo Theatre Company’s STARS 2000. He was an extremely talented performer and a wonderful addition to our teen theatre company. Aaron passed away in 2005 and this scholarship was established as a memorial to honor his achievements in theatre.
The Aaron Antonali Memorial Scholarship recognizes excellence in the performing arts, technical arts, design and stage management. This scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a four-year degree at a college, university or technical school with a major or minor in theatre arts.
Scholarship Criteria:
Open to:
1.) Graduating high school senior who has participated in Diablo Theatre Company’s STARS 2000 as a performer, technician, designer, or stage manager.
2.) Community college student enrolled full time (12 units or more) who has participated in Diablo Theatre Company’s STARS 2000 as a performer, technician, designer, or stage manager.
Applicants must:
1.) Have amateur status (not currently in an actors union).
2.) Enrolled full time in an accredited four-year college, university, or technical school with a theatre arts major or minor.
3.) Be under the age of 23.
SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED
A four-year renewable scholarship, with a total possible award between the amount of $1,000 and $7,500 to be determined by Diablo Theatre Company’s Scholarship Committee.
Requirements for renewable award:
1.) Students must be continuing to study full time in an accredited four-year theatre arts program;
2.) Be under age 23; and
3.) Be in good standing with their school.
The renewable application and transcripts must be submitted to the Scholarship Committee no later than May 15th each year in order to receive funding for the following year of school. Funding shall be limited to four years of college. Award to be determined by the Scholarship Committee after review of application.

DEADLINES
1.) Application must be submitted to Diablo Theatre Company by May 15, 2012. Applicants must be available for an audition (or presentation if not a performer) on June 3, 2012.
2.) Renewable scholarship application must be postmarked by May 15, 2012.
Awards will be announced at the closing performance of the STARS 2000 summer production, and by mail.
ADMINISTRATION:
The Aaron Antonali Scholarship shall be administered by Diablo Theatre Company, a 501c3 organization. A scholarship Committee will be appointed annually by the Board of Directors.
Upon Board approval, a check will be written directly to the College or University along with a contract for the recipient to sign stating that the Antonali Scholarship funds will be applied directly to their education costs.
